Recognizing that two of the most critical needs of shippers are maximum load capacity and maximum tonnage capacity, we designed our super cube trailers to provide the highest productivity in the industry.
Our iconic orange trucks were among the first to be outfitted with no-idle heaters to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Recently, we also voluntarily lowered our solo driver speeds to 60 mph, translating into a reduction of 3.75 million gallons of diesel fuel annually and the elimination of 83.25 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
Together, our trucks and trailers work to further increase efficiency by employing such advances as aerodynamic design and high-efficiency tires. Such measures have resulted in Schneider earning the EPA’s SmartWay Award of Excellence each year since the award’s inception.
