What’s more, our signature orange trucks were among the first to be outfitted with no-idle heaters to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, as well as the latest advances such as aerodynamic design and high-efficiency tires. We also voluntarily lowered our solo driver speeds to 60 mph, translating into a reduction of 3.75 million gallons of diesel fuel annually and the elimination of 83.25 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
It’s no coincidence that the EPA has presented Schneider with the SmartWay Award of Excellence each year since the award’s inception.
