Lowe’s Home Improvement Honors
Schneider National with Prestigious Transportation Award
Company Recognized for Consistent Capacity and Exceptional Service for Third Consecutive Year
Green Bay, Wis. Mar. 27, 2006 — Schneider National Inc., a premier provider of transportation, logistics and related services, today announced it has been recently recognized for outstanding transportation service by Lowe’s Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW), the second-largest home improvement retailer in the world. Schneider was named an Outstanding Distribution Center Inbound Van Carrier by Lowe’s for the third consecutive year at its annual carrier conference.
Schneider National received the award for transporting Lowe’s products from their point of origin/manufacture to all 11 Lowe’s regional distribution centers throughout the United States. Specifically, the company’s transportation solution includes Schneider’s One-Way, Intermodal, Dedicated and Schneider Transportation Management services.
“Schneider National has done an outstanding job of supporting Lowe's on a consistent basis,” said Kevin Perry, director, TL, rail and intermodal transportation for Lowe’s Companies. “They have put forth tremendous effort to better understand our business needs and have continued to develop solutions that enable us to better serve our customers with in-stock merchandise.”
“We greatly appreciate that Lowe’s recognizes our ability to continually rise to industry challenges and deliver consistent, year-round capacity and exceptional service,” said Dan Van Alstine, senior vice president, enterprise sales for Schneider National Inc. “Lowe’s continues to experience impressive double-digit growth and we look forward to supporting their increasing transportation needs as our relationship continues.”
Van Alstine added, “This accomplishment is a significant one for Schneider National, and all of the Schneider associates involved in this award-winning effort should be proud.”
In 2005, Lowe’s expanded its supply chain solution to integrate additional support from Schneider Dedicated and Schneider Logistics. This was important for creating a customized transportation solution that kept freight moving efficiently during the rebuilding efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
