Over the last 20 years, Schneider has invested millions of dollars on testing and evaluating equipment performance and efficiency. Schneider is one of a very limited number of transportation providers that employ a team of full-time engineers who are dedicated to equipment testing program.

Schneider engineers also work closely with transportation industry suppliers in testing and identifying the most energy-efficient technologies. As an example, the Goodyear tires used on Schneider’s fleet of tractors and trailers are technologically a full generation ahead of the industry norm, saving millions of gallons of fuel each year.

Our annual testing program is unique in that we dedicate resources solely to the task of fact-finding for five months every year. Each year 250 units are monitored in evaluation programs following successful testing.

This year, our 250-unit truckload test fleet is evaluating a new set of technologies that promise to deliver even greater fuel efficiency in our fleet.  Once again, these technologies put Schneider at the forefront of the transportation industry.
