Schneider Logistics Honors Service Providers at Their 9th Annual Carrier Recognition Event
Those selected comprise the top 1 percent of carriers providing Schneider Logistics customers with service excellence
GREEN BAY, Wis. — December 1, 2011 — Schneider Logistics, Inc., a leading global logistics provider and part of the Schneider National enterprise, hosted its ninth annual Carrier Recognition Conference in Green Bay, Wis., this fall. More than 180 representatives from the top 10 percent of Schneider Logistics’ contracted carriers attended this year’s event. The conference included recognition of 16 transportation companies as Schneider Logistics Carriers of the Year. Inaugural awards for Commercial Growth and Customer Service Representative of the Year were also presented.
The Carrier of the Year distinction is presented to Schneider Logistics third-party carriers that serve a variety of transportation modes and excel in service and communication while honoring capacity commitments safely for multiple Schneider Logistics customers. Carriers recognized at this year’s conference represent the top 1 percent of service providers moving freight on behalf of Schneider Logistics’ for their customers.
2011 Schneider Logistics Carrier of the Year winners, by mode, include: Bulk, Barnett Transportation, Inc; Dedicated, Dedicated Logistics, Inc.; Flatbed, Admiral Merchants and TC & Sons Trucking, LLC; LTL, Standard Forwarding LLC, Manitoulin Transport, Southeastern Freight Lines, and Con-way Freight; Truckload, Heartland Express, Evans Distribution Systems, Ottaway Motor Express, H&W Transportation, A.D. Transport Express and Millis Transfer, Inc. Because of its affiliation with Schneider Logistics, Schneider National is not eligible for consideration. In addition to the Carrier of the Year awards, two additional awards were introduced at this year’s event. The Commercial Growth Award recognized the carrier that has increased their overall support of Schneider Logistics’ customers within the last year. This award was presented to Heartland Express. The other inaugural award was the Customer Service Representative of the Year award recognizing one single customer service representative who excels at interacting with the Schneider Logistics Customer Service teams. Written nominations from each team were submitted and the award was presented to Josh Welshans of R2 Logistics.
Schneider Logistics’ Carrier Recognition Event, which was held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay — home of the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers, also featured an economic update by Noël Perry from Transport Fundamentals, LLC, a geopolitical update by Dr. Michael Economides from Economides Consultants, a regulatory update from Don Osterberg of Schneider National, and a keynote presentation on leadership from Bob Harlan, Chairman Emeritus of the Green Bay Packers. This year’s event theme was “Transportation Twists and Turns: An Industry Rollercoaster.”
In addition to the Carrier Recognition Event, a charity golf outing was held on Thursday, September 22 benefitting St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center of Green Bay, Wis. In total, Schneider Logistics was able to raise $5,500 for the hospital in Bob Harlan’s name through golf outing participants and a contribution from the Schneider National Foundation.
